Tony Ng is known widely as a pioneer of molecular imaging in cancer: his research takes a unified approach in the study of cancer, combining molecular and cell biological experiments with state of the art imaging techniques. Creating images of cancer has enabled new techniques to both diagnose cancer and monitoring whether a patient’s treatment is working. His works is leading to possibilities for personalised cancer treatments.

A clinician scientist, he qualified in Medicine in 1989 from University of Aberdeen and held fellowship positions in Manchester and at Imperial Cancer Research Fund prior to joining King’s as a Clinician Scientist and later becoming Dimbleby Professor of Cancer Studies in 2004. He was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2013. He has directed the multidisciplinary, CRUK and EPSRC funded KCL-UCL Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre since 2008. Tony established the MSc in Translational Cancer Medicine to providing advanced training for a new generation of cancer clinicians and scientists.
