Tricia K.w. Woo MD, MSc, FRCP(C)

Dr. Woo completed her BSc and MSc degrees in Microbiology at her hometown University of Guelph. She attended medical school at the University of Toronto and also undertook fellowship training there. Her internal medicine training was at McMaster University. It was here that she became interested in Geriatrics due to the positive influence of mentors like Dr. Michelle Gagnon. In 2004, Tricia was recruited to the Division of Geriatric Medicine for McMaster University as an Assistant Professor and joined the St. Peter's Hospital team. Tricia has a keen interest in increasing the profile of Geriatric medicine to medical students in Canada. In 2005 she was awarded the AFP Internal Career Award for Clinician Educators. In 2008, she received the award for outstanding clerkship preceptor for the undergraduate MD class of 2008 (McMaster), in 2011 she received the Internal Medicine Selective Teaching Award, and in 2012 she received the Canadian Geriatric Society Physician Innovator in Education Award. Currently, she is an Associate Professor and the Geriatrician for the Geriatric Assessment and Falls Clinics at St. Peter's Hospital. She is also the Geriatric Selective Coordinator for the undergraduate medical program. Tricia also serves as Co-Chair of the NICE (National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly) Dementia Theme Group and Chair of the Canadian Geriatrics Society Education Committee.
