Volker Schöffl MD, MHBA

Private Dr. medical Volker Schöffl is a senior physician in the department of sports orthopedics, sports traumatology, sports medicine, and surgery of the upper extremities at the Bamberg Clinic. He is the author of numerous publications in the field of sports medicine, biomechanics, and sports traumatology. He is the team doctor of the German National Sport Climbing Team, the Expedition Team, and the National Team for Ski Mountaineering of the German Alpine Association and a member of the Medical Commission of the UIAA and the IFSC. He is the recipient of the 2004 sports traumatology award from the DGU. In addition to numerous scientific works, he is a reviewer for various national and international journals. His surgical focus is on surgery of the upper extremities and the treatment of sports injuries of all joints. He teaches sports orthopedics and sports traumatology at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen and he and his wife also work regularly in various development aid hospitals in Laos as a doctor and surgical teachers.
